Sunny Habit
By Michael Caylo-Baradi
Now and then, I
go to church.
I’d look at the pulpit, and
sometimes listen
to it when it starts
to flow like old,
dry habit. After service
is over, I’d shake and squeeze
the pastor’s hand,
his words, and feel light
on the
sidewalk sun.
